Moving to Switzerland

well, I've got some exciting news for you.
I got a job! Which seems like nothing short of a miracle to me. Like I told you last time around... I was headed for 2 job interviews in Switzerland and one of them brought results. Actually both of them did, but after the interviews I had to let them know whether I wanted the job or not - which meant I had to choose one. Naturally I picked the one that needed a lot longer to respond which in turn caused some nervous days for me.
But God is thankfully still God :-) and two days ago I got the confirmation from the place that I had chosen. I am starting December 8th - only two weeks from tomorrow.

The job is as a receptionist at a childrens hotel in Wiesen, Switzerland (about an 1 hour from Chur or St Moritz and 20 minutes from Davos). From what I can tell I am going to be there at least until the end of the summer 'season' - October 25th, 2009 and I might just stay one more season until April 2010. We'll see!
This will give me an opportunity to really save some money maybe go on a long overdue vacation...

I'll keep you posted.
Love, Hanna

Intermission

hello my dear friends and readers of this blog.
it's been two months since I returned from England. Time for me to process and evaluate. Time to pray and seek God. And after many 'rounds', where I once again had to learn to let go and put myself completely in the hands of God, to trust Him in the midst of doubts, troubles and uncertainties. But I finally came to a conclusion - it is time for me to take a break. emphasis on break. This is not the end of my missionary activities.
In a way this break or intermission is long overdue, because my finances haven't been doing well ever since I got back from Thailand. I guess I just wasn't ready before. See, I wanted the break to be about more than just the lack of finances cause that would have seemed like plain defeat.
Now I know that I want and need a break. Although it feels embarrasing to admit, fact is that I am downright exhausted - spiritually and emotionally. Which helped me realize more than ever that I can't do this job this calling without the backup of my church and I am not talking about financial support here (which nontheless is always needed and very much appreciated as well).

I don't know excatly how long this intermission while last. Probably somewhere between six months and a year. It also depends on how things pan out with my church.

Now you will want to know what I am going to do during this time.
Well, I am hoping to work - pay off creditcards, save money for future outreaches, mission trips.
As a matter of fact I already got a job offer from a bakery/café in Saas Fee (Valais, Switzerland) and I've got two more job interviews tomorrow and on Friday - both in Switzerland as well.
I also want to spend this time to recharge my batteries, continue to work together with God on defining my vision, finding out more about His plans for my life.
And last but not least I want to renew friendships, spend time with people - family, friends, church and through this figure out things with my church for future missions.

Keep in touch
love, Hanna
