update on finances...

Hi everyone!
I just did a quick numbers check. You know, to see how I am doing financially and from what I can tell so far with the money I received already and the donations I know of that are to come in during these next couple of weeks... I still need about 500.- Euros = $775.-

Which I know is quite a bit and I have to confess it worries me a little... but yes only a little - because I KNOW that my God is so much bigger than this! And He has come through and provided so many times before - going on 5 years full-time ministry!

Well, I'll keep you updated and please pray with me for a once and for all breakthrough in this area!!!
THanks a bunch, love,
Hanna - currently in London, UK

'Trooping of the Colour'

On Saturday I went to Buckingham Palace again... where they were showing the annual parade called 'Trooping of the Colour' in honour of Her Royal Majesty the Queens official birthday. In case you didn't know (I sure didn't) the Queen has two birthdays - an actual birth-day and an offical birthday.

Anyways in this parade there are thousands of troops all in their lovely uniforms of course and hundreds of horses, some canons, then the Queen and other Royals driving a long in a horse-drawn carriage to inspect the troops... and it all ends with the whole Royal Family showing up on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the airborne troops so to say - with some dozen planes of all shapes and sizes. It was amazing.
You know, seeing Queen Elisabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles & Camilla, Edward & Sophie of Wessex, the Princes William and Harry... - it was all very surreal, like in a movie or fairytale or something..

1 week down...

11 more to go...
by now I've been to most of the ministries at least once and can start to form a picture of the place/ministry here. Our weekly program looks something like this: Monday and Wednesday we run the coffee bar, which is actually a bit of soup kitchen. On Thursdays we have the women's drop-in. Tuesdays and Fridays are a bit slower for me, since these are the days where the others have their counseling clients... so I help a bit in the office, do some practical work or work on the academical tasks that are required for this Field Assignment/outreach/internship.

Over this last weekend we had really nice weather and I got to play tourist for a little while, see some sights... I started out at Trafalgar Square past Westminster and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St.James Park, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square back to Trafalgar Square. On my way back home in a doubel-decker bus we passed MI6 HQ as seen in 007 The world is not enough... where very early on in the movie James Bond comes shooting out of the side of the building in a speedboat a la Q, only to land on the Thamse and get caught up in a exciting chase...

On Sunday I went to HTB (Holy Trinity Brompton, Nicky Gumbel-Alpha, Tim Hughes) which was great and also the first time I really felt at home in this city. Afterwards I went to the Hyde Park/ Kensington Gardens and saw Peter Pan (bronze statue). :-)
Other than that I spent the afternoon wandering about the Park and even after two hours I had only seen a part of the Park! It's huge!

In the evening I watched the Euro2008 Qualifier Germany-Poland! GO Germany!

next stop: London

well, I arrived here save and sound yesterday morning. Or maybe I should say I arrived at the airport yesterday morning by the time I got to Clapham -which is the part of London where I'm staying it was 3 pm.

I've spent the better part of yesterday afternoon and today to get my bearings a little, unpack, do some shopping...

This morning I attended a prayer meeting the Earl's Court Community Project (ECCP) which ended with a visit to Starbucks. :-)
I also got a tour of the Projects different rooms and facilities.

More on everything later...
In Him,
Hanna
